Joining an Eden Team

If you've got this far we're guessing that God is already speaking to you about inner city mission, however the process to join Eden is deliberately designed to add information to support your passion and to test the call that you may already be feeling. We often describe Eden as a life choice and as with any major long term decision it should be made wisely, prayerfully and in accountability with others.

Here's the full application process step by step:

Stage 1 Expression of Interest

When you send in your Expression of Interest form we will start your application. We will contact you to have a chat over the phone and discuss the possibility of coming to visit Eden for the day. At this stage we will talk about which project you might be interested in joining and will organise the visit accordingly.

Stage 2 Visit

On your first visit you will come for a Taster day with 3 or 4 other applicants. You will get to meet Eden team members and team leaders from a couple of different teams and get a feel for some of our Eden communities. The main purpose of this visit is for you to decide whether God is really calling you to Eden. To help with this when you leave we will give you a prayer journal designed to help you in your reflection.

Stage 3 Formal Application

If you are feeling that God really is calling you to join Eden you will then fill in a full application form and ask two people, one of whom will be your church leader, to provide a reference for you.

Stage 4 Weekend Visit & Interview

Once your application is complete you will come for a weekend visit with your chosen team which will include a service at the Eden church. You will have a formal interview with the Eden Team Leader, the church leader and a representative from The Message Trust. This will be the point at which both you and we decide whether we feel Eden is right for you.

Stage 5 Moving Arrangements

Once you are accepted you will continue to discuss the practicalities of moving with your Eden Team Leader who will help you through the process.

The whole application process can take just a matter of weeks or it can take up to a year depending on your situation but we recommend that you make the decision with careful consideration. That means that requesting an application pack today will be the first step in seeking God for your future and we are just at the end of the phone to chat with you and answer your questions throughout the process.
