Churches
Eden doesn't have any particular ecclesial affiliation or bias. The projects launched so far have involved partnerships with traditional denominations, pentecostal and charismatic networks, independent evangelicals and fresh expressions. One of the main reasons this is possible is because we are committed to focusing on the the things we are for and the things that unite us, rather than the things we are against and the things that divide us. You could say that Eden is a network formed by a common missiology rather than a common ecclesiology.
New Edens At this time of growth we are handling an increasing number of enquiries from groups up and down the nation who feel Eden may be the right model to adopt to affect change in communities God has laid on their hearts. It's exciting to be getting a greater sense of the huge potential for positive change that's out there. If you are in that place of considering getting in touch we would ask you to consider a number of things first so that we can engage with you constructively from the outset.
1) How does the target community fare according to official deprivation statistics?
2) Which Eden model would you be looking to adopt?
3) What are your thoughts regarding the recruitment of a leader and a team?
4) Eden involves financial commitment, have you considered this?
The links above will take you to web pages written to help you think through carefully whether Eden is the right thing for you to explore at this time. When you've had time to process the questions please do drop a line to Eden's Executive Director.
Of course reading one of the books about Eden, 'Called to the Streets' or 'Darkest England and the Way Back in' would fill in a lot of gaps too!
