Vision for Regional Hubs One of Eden's 5 Cornerstones is that we will only go where we are most needed - the most struggling and neglected communities. Although finding these places in far from an exact science (statistics tend to 'flatten reality') we do find the Indices of Deprivation a very helpful yardstick. When you see deprivation mapped nationally it is immediately obvious that the picture is far from even. Britain today is a place of great contrasts, with certain regions, mainly the old industrial heartlands, suffering disproportionately. Guided by the most recent figures Eden's leadership has concluded that the most effective way for us to impact the nation is to focus our energies on establishing a federation consisting of 9 Regional Hubs - focused on the 9 hotspots in which the large proportion of the nation's most troubled neighbourhoods are located.
