7 Days On The Breadline - essential viewing

This week (Tuesday at 9pm to be precise) ITV started airing their new socio-celeb-doc called '7 Days On The Breadline'. If you didn't catch it you might still be able to get it on the ITV web player thing. Anyway, it was a great show for anyone interested in urban issues as the celebs in question didn't just spend a week in the community 'Secret Millionaire' style - they actually moved in with local families - taking on the parenting of kids and teenagers in the process.

In the programme we watch ex-Spice girl Mel B, actor Keith Allen, Trinny the fashion woman and some bloke called Austin Healey (?) as they struggle to try to live life amidst the chaos and agro of inner city neighbourhoods just like those Eden is present in. Whilst its a pity that ITV seem to have entirely forgotten how to make a proper documentary and need to pepper everything with 'celebrities' it's still well worth a watch. Next episode Tues 27th October, 9pm, ITV1.
